What do the symbols on our candles mean?

There are symbols on all our candles to indicate what you should take into account to burn candles safely. This way you can optimally enjoy our candles.

Make sure that the side of a pillar candle does not get too high. Cut it down if it gets higher than 1 cm.

Read the instructions before use.

Ventilate the room after use.

Do not inhale the smoke directly.

Burn candles in a suitable holder with the right dimensions.

The holder that is used should not be made of combustible material.

Extinguish a candle 1 cm from the bottom. The heat may cause the holder or coaster to burst.

Snuff out the candle before it has burned down to 1 centimetre from the edge of the candle-holder.

Do not place this item on the table.

Do not place this product in the dishwasher.

This candle is not suitable for indoor use. Only use this candle outdoors.

Do not place candles in a draught. A candle placed in a draught will always smoke and drip.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Place a candle straight up. A leaning candle will always drip and smoke.

Do not place a burning candle close to a heat source such as sunlight, a heater or a fireplace. Candles which are placed too close a to heat source may drip.

A candle may melt in temperatures above 28 degrees Celsius. Therefore, in summer, never place a candle in full sunlight or a hot sun room.

Place the candle (also filled glasses) on a non flammable coaster.

Never place a burning candle near curtains or other flammable objects. It is open fire, therefore caution is always necessary.

Do not place a burnt match or other materials in the candle-grease. It may case a second flame which results in the candle burning not in a correct way.

The wick should not be longer than 1 cm. If the wick is longer it may smoke and flicker. If necessary, cut the wick before lighting the candle.

Burn candles out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not extinguish a candle with water.

Place a candle on a non flammable coaster or in a non flammable holder. Of course, make sure the candle is placed in an adequate way and cannot not fall over.

Place candles at a distance of 10 cm from each other. Candles which are placed too close together can use each others’ heat which might cause dripping.

Do not move a burning candle.
